Desktop/Facilities Support


Role:

The Desktop Support role works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. They are responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email, or instant message and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.

The Facilities Support role will monitor and maintain workplace functionality while identifying items that may hinder workflow and addressing them in a proactive manner. This role will act as a main point of contact for contractors while onsite.


Job Responsibilities:

DESKTOP SUPPORT

  • Build and install PCs, VoIP systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards
  • Provides advice and guidance to colleagues regarding incidents
  • Maintain installed PCs, networks, VoIP systems and peripherals with routine maintenance
  • Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
  • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to senior team leaders for consideration and implementation
  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines
  • Assist in technical training manual creation/maintenance based on system changes
  • Create, maintain, and distribute system maintenance reports to leadership
  • Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to leadership

FACILITIES SUPPORT

  • Make sure lighting fixtures are functional and replace bulbs when necessary
  • Maintain scheduled A/C filter exchanges throughout the complex
  • Desk setup and tear down based on business requirements
  • Interface with contractors to facilitate repairs and maintenance
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications:

DESKTOP SUPPORT

  • Excellent Customer Service in Face-to-Face, Telephone or Electronic Interaction with Employees
  • Good Language and Communications Skills
  • Problem-Solving
  • Relevant Certifications a plus
  • Good Understanding of Computer Support and Troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Windows 10, Mac OSX, Windows Server products and/or Apple Operating Systems
  • Ability to Work in a Team
  • Ability to Prioritize Projects

FACILITIES SUPPORT

  • Ability to lift 70 pounds. Must have attention to detail and basic hand tool experience.
